At Walt Disney World, Online Resort Check-In lets you completely avoid the front-desk check-in experience. Instead, you receive an email or text message with your room number, and you can go directly to the room, gaining access using the MagicBands that were shipped to your home in advance.
During the Online Resort Check-In process, you also have the option of making a couple of simple, pre-defined room requests (for example, "ground floor" or "near transportation").
If you like the benefits of the Online Resort Check-In service, by all means use it. However, during Online Resort Check-in do not input any room requests that contradict something you requested using our Room Request tool. If you have any doubt, leave the request areas blank during check-in. Basically, if you requests are contradictory, you make it impossible for the room assigner to know what you want. Do not contradict yourself!
When you get your room assignment, if you are not happy with the room, you can always visit the front desk and request to move to a different room. Disney may not be able to accommodate your request, but it never hurts to ask.
